So, this weekend, I, Celina, had planned a girls weekend with my good friend Karen, in Lynchburg. Ben had "boy activities" planned with some buddies back here in the Raleigh area. On Saturday morning, I got a phone call from my husband saying that his brother, Nate, was going to be playing in a baseball game in a small town called Buena Vista (pronounced Beu-na Vee-sta, not Buay-na Vi-sta, like one would think, and the town does have a good view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, by the way). The game was later that day, and Ben was on his way up for the game.
So, Karen and I finished our walk at Black Water Creek park and I headed out to meet Ben to drive to Buena Vista. The game was fun, and it was great to see Nate. The lefty threw a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, pitching out of jams in the first, third and fifth innings as Oswego State defeated Southern Virginia 2-0. (Ben added the game comments, can you tell??)
I also got to see my kids for a little bit. We played on the swing set for a little while, before I met Karen when she got off of work on Friday.
